We have two configs for the Compaq. In its desktop incarnation, it
stays attached to a power source and in that configuration, I need
it to be stable. When it's running on battery power, I can deal
with it being less than stable. Anyhow, if it's stable when
powered up, I could conceivably participate in the debugging of
the code.
