Python requires tk -- which requires "shared library X11.6" 

An awful lot requires X11 (or shared X11 libraries) but installing X
here would only be to satisfy the requirements of other applications:  I
don't have a supported video card and the machine is being built as a
"server."

Is there a way to provide Python with the X11 libraries without
(unsuccessfully) installing X11?
