In another post not related to this post, it was suggested to use the snapshots as alternate way of upgrading between official stable version .iso files. I know all ready about the 2 upgrade methods you talk about. Thanks any way for trying but your answer was incorrect. -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-questions@freebsd.org [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@freebsd.org]On Behalf Of Tony Shadwick Sent: Monday, May 16, 2005 10:13 AM To: fbsd_user Cc: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD. You can either do a binary upgrade using an ISO image, or do a src upgrade, the latter of which you would change your supfile for cvsup to be tag=RELENG_5_4. Run cvsup, then go through the 'make world' procedure in the handbook. Feel free to correct me anyone. :) Tony On Mon, 16 May 2005, fbsd_user wrote: > ftp://current.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/snapshots/ looks like install disc1 > content. > > How or what do I need to run to use this to update my system? > > Been to the official handbook with no luck. > > > > > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-questions-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" > _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-questions-unsubscribe@freebsd.org"
