The snapshots have the date in their name, and disappear 
the next day. I can't update the ports every day, and I do
not think that we should make the snapshots available from
the FreeBSD mirrors for extended periods of time.

I fetched all of 1.1pre2 immediately when it was announced, 
but have not yet completed the port. As soon as I have the
first packages complete, I'll do the commits. To my surprise
I found, that while pre1 could be compiled with the BSD make,
pre2 requires the GNU make. I'll try to fix this, but if I
can't we'll have to live with the fact ...
