I was told to send mail with the make error and the config.log files. I am a newbie at FreeBSD, actually, I am a newbie at unix, so I am not sure what you need from me at this time besides the output files. I also am attaching my dmesg output as well. My machine is a Digital PWS 500au. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is the make output: ===> Configuring for nautilus-1.0.6_5 loading cache ./config.cache checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c -o root -g wheel checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking whether gmake sets ${MAKE}... yes checking for working aclocal... missing checking for working autoconf... missing checking for working automake... missing checking for working autoheader... missing checking for working makeinfo... found checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no checking for Cygwin environment... no checking for mingw32 environment... no checking how to run the C preprocessor... cc -E checking host system type... alpha-portbld-freebsd4.5 checking build system type... alpha-portbld-freebsd4.5 checking for gcc... cc checking whether the C compiler (cc -O -pipe -mcpu=ev4 ) works... no configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables. ===> Script "configure" failed unexpectedly.
