Sorry for the no-update last week, but there wasn't much to report on due to holidays, vacations, etc.. What's done: o Chapter 2 - Install (I committed this earlier this evening) o Chapter 4 - Ports o Chapter 16 - Advanced Networking (YP/NIS section) [1] o Chapter 17 - Electronic Mail What's being worked on: o Chapter 7 - Printing - Joel Sutton o Chapter 15 - PPP (PPPoE section) - myself o Chapter 16 - Advanced Networking (DNS section) - Nick Esborn [1] On another note, Bill Swingle will also be taking on another section starting next week sometime when he returns from vacation. I'll keep everyone posted as to what that is as soon as I know. We've also just brought Greg Sutter on board to help out with the handbook as well. For those of you who don't know Greg, he's the guy responsible for the Daemon News layout and can be found on various FreeBSD.org mailing lists. He's busily brushing up on his DocBook skills and we all should be seeing some good stuff out of him soon. Welcome aboard :-) One last thing of note, I have somewhat of a rough todo list available for those interested.. http://www.freebsd.org/~jim/handbook/handbook.todo It's not very in depth, but it should provide a general idea of what we're hoping to accomplish. [1] I'll be getting to the Advanced Networking chapter as soon as I'm finished with the PPPoE section of Chapter 15 I'll be starting work on tonight or tomorrow. I'll definitely be committing the YP/NIS section with the restructuring of that chapter and will also commit the DNS section at that time if it's complete. - jim -- - jim mock - walnut creek cdrom/freebsd test labs - jim@luna.cdrom.com - - phone: 1.925.691.2800 x.3814 - fax: 1.925.674.0821 - jim@FreeBSD.org - To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message
