Thanks for the reply on this issue Alexandre. It seems rather unlikely that
your change could be directly responsible for this issue and that it's more
likely just exposing a latent issue or some sort of second order effect.

It seems like we might want to disable the behaviour by default in stable/11
and stable/12, what do you think dim?
