Sounds like a geometry problem. To fix it you'll have to reinstall
FreeBSD.  

1.  Using DOS FDISK, wipe out the FreeBSD slice and create a small primary
DOS slice.
2.  Boot the FreeBSD boot disk, remove the DOS partition, and install
FreeBSD over it.

Booteasy should pick up the proper geometry.
