There is a PR for an update, but no work happend on it for long time.

Also: Magento 2 it nearly completely incompatible with all 1.x versions. 
It would be wise to create a new port for this! Otherwise all existing 
users will be in great trouble, especially if the use modules besides 
the core installation.
