This is not a ports problem, it is with documentation.  But it could be the
documentation of the process, or part of the documentation build system.  T=
he
linked page does not mention doing a partial checkout of the doc tree just =
for
man pages, and as far as I know, that is not supported.  Could you show whi=
ch
portion of the documentation you were following that suggested that method?
