I am having a problem setting up the modem on my nephews computer. It's
a Hayes Ultra 14400 Smartmodem. When I set it up, the modem turns on and
sounds like it is going to dial and then shuts down. I gives me a
message that the modem is busy or not connected correctly and to check
my interrupts and try again. I have tried all the basic configurations
for the Com ports as well as all available interrupts, and nothing
works. There are some jumpers and a set of switches on the inside of the
modem, is this where my problem lies?? I would really like to get this
setup for him before his birthday, please help. Thanks
