First of all, there's a workaround for this:

# ifconfig sis0 ether 0:0:e8:1:2:3

Yes, you can set the ethernet address. Don't make the first octet
be "01", or anything with bit 0 set: that's a multicast address.

Second, become root, rin "pciconf -l" and mail me the output.

Third, tell me which SiS chipset/motherboard you have.
