It could be the revers lookup. How can I fix this ? and I am using pppd from the 2.2.5 CD. My freebsd machine is called rachel and my win95 machine is called area51. They both can ping each other with their hostnames and ip addresses. so what could be causing the reverse lookup. BTW , thanx for the sendmail info . I have also tried adding the following to ppp.conf set redial 10 2 but it still tries to dial more than 2 times.
