Good Morning, All. My attention was drawn a little while ago to the fact that the South African holidays in /usr/share/calendar/ were far out of date (most not having been celebrated since 1994), and so I decided to clean them up. As soon as I got into actually working in that directory, it struck me that it's hard to know just where to fix things. Calendar.all includes calendar.world, which has all the common dates (in it, as well as calendar.holiday, which has all the world holidays in it (with country names attached) but *also* includes calendar.usholiday, which does not have country names attached to it, making the output of a calendar -f calendar.all -t 04.07 gives you things like "Jul 04 Independence Day" (as well as breaking my terminal emulator with some fun multi-lingual output..) I'm getting the impression the whole thing grew organically, rather than with a design in mind.. (If I'm wrong, and there is a rationale to the whole thing, please someone point me to the document..) Do you know if anything in the tree relies on the current directory structure? Is it useful to ponder the structure of this directory, and come up with a new, extensible, non-us-centric structure, or am I just wasting my time?
