My Slackware Linux installation is entirely within slice 4 (extended). In Linux terms, /dev/hda5 - /dev/hda10. And I place my vote for modding FreeBSD to be able to use the same type of partitioning. Four primary disk slices is hardly enough on the large drives available now, particularly since only Linux and Windoze can use extended slices.
