The documentation explains what they do, but given an outdated port on what basis does one decide that -r or -R must be used? For instance, let's suppose portversion | grep '<' gives imlib < ispell < jpeg < libglade < Those are libraries and programs, what would you take into account or what information would you consult to know if -r or -R need to be used for each of them?
