I do exactly the same thing (using pew to simplify virtenv management).

In this case though, I wanted to avoid all the hocus pocus of setting up
a virtual env for mailman and getting it to start and operate properly.


I am increasingly of a mind to dump mailman entirely and just use
freelists.
