However, I could never get it to work with gphoto. Try gtkam in ports, it works great. Also, check your permissions on the device, I had trouble with that and could only access the device as root until I got them straightened out. Make sure your Camera is being recognized by FreeBSD as you plug it in. If it's not, usbd may not running and you may not have ohci or uhci compiled into your kernel. usbd should load the ohci/uhci kernel modules (at least that't what the 5.0 man page says).
