never had a problem with SMC 1211TX in any BSD, Linux or Mazdai Usually $15 at Fry's. did not try this one for Solaris IA though. But... that subj flies in the face of Ted's preaching on long term consequences of short term fixes. Just proves that crowds have more similar traits than differences they are so proud of.
