Actually, I was just about to submit a patch that switches off of this to add -p to FETCH_BEFORE_ARGS in the FETCH=/usr/bin/fetch case. Even though it's an environment variable, it would be nice to have it actually work for both those who have set it in their environment OR in /etc/make.conf (since there is really no place reasonable for specifying a protoype environment save login.conf, which doesn't actually work for this anyway). Unless you have some other mechanism in the works for those using the build system behind a firewall, I'd like to have this put back.
