I think we should also remove the nvi patches as it contains global derived code. Since GPL is incompatable with the (bsd-style) nvi license and the global patches add code to nvi, then it would be better to remove the conflicting code. Also, have you considered doing something like what was used on /usr/src/sys/dev/aic7xxx/aic7xxx.seq ? Will you be assigning the copyright to the FSF? (ie: you'll never be able to change your mind? 50 years is a long time...)
