I'll investigate why this happens.  How much physical RAM do you have in
the system?  Can you put the card on the other PCI bus that's on that
motherboard and see if there is any difference?
Also, as a tip, I don't read stable@ on a daily basis.  If you (or
anyone else) has aac(4) problems, cc:ing me directly will bring the
fastest response.
