I've got mixed feelings about this. Perl is so damn useful that it seems
restrictive to not be able to use it as part of the core of FreeBSD. I
think we should accept it as part of our arsenal of tools and not try
and make it an optional part of the system.

In all seriousness, I'd rather see awk, sed and even sh be consigned to
the dustbin of history and have Perl replace them than continue with the
attitude that Perl is optional bloat.

Anyone for replacing /etc with perl scripts :-)
