 Howdy,
 
 I use a DFE-650TX in an IBM ThinkPad 600 and have used it successfully since
 FreeBSD 4.4.
 I had similar issues to you until I stopped the autonegotiation of the link
 speed.
 Add 'media 100baseTX mediaopt full-duplex' to your pccard_ifconfig line in
 /etc/rc.conf.
