What I mean is simply to get rid of fetchsrctarball and replace the 
DISTFILES with that.  Have makesrctarball exist along with the old do-fetch 
(combine the two), and there you go: makesrctarball to update and replace 
your current tarball snapshot, upload that, then update the distinfo etc. in 
the port on freefall.  Of course, whatever you find easiest works, but 
that's how I'd keep doing it if they don't have regular releases of askpass 
:)
