``Someone'' didn't know about the HP6020 (without the `i') at all
before you came up here.  It's a simple matter to replace the `i' with
an asterisk in the scsiconf.c entry, but you first gotta know that
there are these drives around at all.

Turn on SCSIDEBUG, and see what exactly the invalid opcode is.  You
didn't even mention what tape drive you're using, and i hope you don't
assume that you're the only -current user with a tape drive at
all. ;-) Since other people don't complain, it's certainly something
very specific to _your_ drive.
