In general: If you introduce a new piece of infrastructure, people
will usually not object if you fix the places that (should) use it,
too.

In this specific case: There is nobody doing really agressive
maintenance on the emulators, so I don't think anybody will mind (and
I think it would take a while before somebody else did it).
