IP addresses are read from /etc/rc.conf at startup. Also interesting to
you could be the nameserver addresses found in /etc/resolv.conf.

If you want to change the IP address of a running interface, just do an
"ifconfig ed0 1.2.3.4 netmask 255.255.0.0" (with the numbers replaced by
your new IP-address and netmask of course..)
