How about some non-geeky paraphernalia (your mailer doesn't do spell 
checking, does it ?) ?

I can't see myself ever wearing a FreeBSD T-Shirt or peaked cap, but 
I'd certainly invest in a few mouse mats or mugs.  I'd be happy to 
take them into work too, thus ``promoting the cause''.  Given the 
$$$s (or a volunteer), you could also organise one or more FreeBSD 
screensavers that run under Windoze.  People that are stuck running 
windows at work - I'm required to run Lotus Notes :-/ - can then do 
their bit too.
