Actually, I've always found the FTP to be simpler...
Stick files on computer (or mount CD).  Done.
I always keep the latest -RELEASE on a system here for FTP, so that if we
have another system that needs setup, I just do a FTP install (amazing
how fast they go over 100mbit/full duplex ;), and then NFS mounted
installworld at some point from the latest build I have sitting around.
Only time I ever tried NFS, it was a disaster.  Granted, it was with
2.1.5 a few months back, (don't ask), and I had to jump through more
hoops than you would BELIEVE to get that dang thing to just INSTALL.
