I requested (and obtained) clarification when the original declamation 
was received from on high; mounting it on /compat/linux/procfs is deemed 
to be adequate to achieve this purpose.

(No, I don't immediately plan to update /usr/sbin/linux to do this 
 automatically - either it'll become part of the linux compatibility code 
 proper, or we'll do it the brute-force way, but that's still somewhat 
 open to discussion - our usual decision-making process.)
