Hi! (Sorry for my poor english) Hardware: MB Acorp SiS22, HDD Caviar 22100(prim. mast.), CDROM Toshiba XM-6702B(prim. slav.) OS: FreeBSD-4.1 I have trouble with my booting up my computer. I see these messages: ad0: 2014MB <WDC AC22100L> [4092/16/63] at ata0-master using UDMA33 acd0: CDROM <TOSHIBA CDROM XM-6702B> at ata0-master using PIO4 Mounting root from ufs: /dev/ad0s1a ad0: READ command timeout - reseting <pause 1-2 min. after each such string> ata0: reseting devices .. device dissapeared! 1 done ad0: READ command timeout - reseting ata0: reseting devices .. device dissapeared! 1 done ad0: READ command timeout - reseting ata0: reseting devices .. device dissapeared! 1 done ata0-master: WARNING: WAIT-READY active=ATA_ACTIVE_ATA ata0-master: timeout waiting for command=ef s=00 e=60 ad0: trying fallback to PIO mode ata0: reseting devices .. device dissapeared! 1 done <continue booting> When I remove CD-ROM from machine, OS can't boot: ad0: 2014MB <WDC AC22100L> [4092/16/63] at ata0-master using UDMA33 Mounting root from ufs: /dev/ad0s1a ad0: READ command timeout - reseting ata0: reseting devices .. device dissapeared! ata0-master: timeout waiting to give command=c6 s=d0 e=00 ata0-master: timeout waiting to give command=ef s=d0 e=00 ata0-master: timeout waiting to give command=ef s=d0 e=00 ata0-master: timeout waiting to give command=ef s=d0 e=00 done ata0-master: timeout waiting to give command=20 s=d0 e=00 ad0: error exiting command ad0: reading primary paritition table: error reading fsbn 0 Root mount failed: 5 Mounting root from ufs:wd0s1a <system halted> What's wrong?
