"x${NO_CHECKSUM}" = "x" should be changed into -z "${NO_CHECKSUM}" ${FIND} -exec should use {} +, not {} \; Subversion has a --config-option config:miscellany:use-commit-times=yes that could be used so that all the touch'ing is restricted to git.
