Because I couldn't configure the 2nd correctly, I'm mounting source from another machine to have room to build. I was getting a load error when I tried to configure a custom kernel, so I've backed off and am trying to build GENERIC and get the same error: here's the final message: loading kernel isa.o: Undefined symbol `_isa_devtab_cam' referenced from text segment isa.o: Undefined symbol `_isa_devtab_cam' referenced from text segment isa.o: Undefined symbol `_isa_devtab_cam' referenced from text segment isa.o: Undefined symbol `_isa_devtab_cam' referenced from text segment isa.o: Undefined symbol `_isa_devtab_cam' referenced from text segment isa.o: Undefined symbol `_isa_devtab_cam' referenced from text segment isa.o: Undefined symbol `_isa_devtab_cam' referenced from text segment isa.o: Undefined symbol `_isa_devtab_cam' referenced from text segment *** Error code 1 Stop.
