Well, I have moved a project that was something like 700K lines of code from a Pyramid 9000 series 4.3-BSD box to Interactive UNIX (SysVr3). It took about 6 weeks. So, I'd say I might have at least a clue. Of course, I had a hand in the design of the thing in the first place, and portability was one of the design goals.
