Hi,

how come I cannot find any open source implementation of the Internet
Printer Protocol? Is there (a) no interest, or (b) is IPP so complex
that noone will want to do it? From what I see on the web there is
significant vendor activity, so, are (c) open source people frowned
upon in that community? It's interesting how many different
communities are behind each IETF working group, take IPv6 for example,
there it seems as if the leading edge is KAME followed by three more
open source projects. How come that IPP has zero open source activity?

Of course the question for FreeBSD is, how will FreeBSD get the power
to serve IPP?

regards
-Gunther
