I am trying to work on a port and I would like to use the stock FreeBSD
make because of variables that need to be set. I do not know how to
do it in gmake and the manual page for gmake is pretty worthless. Can
someone at least point me to some documentation on converting a gmake
makefile to FreeBSD's make format?

Thanks.
