It's going to depend more on the frequency of queries than anything else I think of -- if you have 50 or 60 domains hosted that no one ever queries, it will consume some extra time during start-up, but otherwise, I doubt you'd notice. And unless you have massive connectivity to machines that are making *lots* of requests (as is the case, for example, for the root nameservers), I expect that your connection to the querying clients will be a bottleneck before your nameserver is. Of course, this will also depend on any other workload that the nameserver has. :-} And the effect can be mitigated by implementing caching-only nameservers on some of the clients, if you have that option. >2) similary, how many slave server can it support?
