The following reply was made to PR ports/73993; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Peter Jeremy <PeterJeremy@optushome.com.au> To: Michael Johnson <ahze@freebsd.org> Cc: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@freebsd.org Subject: Re: ports/73993: faac build fails on 4.10 - mpeg4ip-libmp4v2 install wrong Date: Wed, 17 Nov 2004 17:14:44 +1100 On Tue, 2004-Nov-16 09:46:28 +0000, Michael Johnson wrote: >Synopsis: faac build fails on 4.10 - mpeg4ip-libmp4v2 install wrong >Please read ports/UPDATING to see how to upgrade faad/mpeg4ip Upon further reflection, I've determined that the reason for my failure is _because_ I followed the instructions in ports/UPDATING. The mpeg4ip-libmp4v2 installation is incomplete. faac auto-detects that libmp4v2 is present and tries to use it but the relevant include files aren't installed so the faac build dies. If I _hadn't_ followed the build instructions and just re-installed mpeg4ip, faac would have been built before mpeg4ip-libmp4v2 and everything would have been successful. -- Peter Jeremy
