You did not read the problem correctly or follow what the bug report says while doing your testing. The problem is not selecting cancel on the main screen to exit, but after selecting the option 1 and entering the next screen is where there is no way to get out. In sysinstall there is the Q=quit option to exit that screen. Maybe you need to play with sysinstall to see how it works before making a determination that sade is working correctly. And if you really trust sade then plug in a USB stick and try to slice and label it and see what happens.
