Yes. But for good reasons, Mk/bsd.ports.mk contains the line

FETCH_ARGS?=    -AFpr

Note the -A. Of course, it's no problem to make an exception for github, but
at least, one should be aware of this.

yes. And a github framework probably should set this by default...
