Having run a BSD User Group for around 3 years now I find that the 
local universities are a fertile ground for harvesting members. :)  
All the more so if they have a Csci or EE program.   Once you get 
going I can help you get your group listed on freebsd.org.  I also 
have had luck getting free or low-cost CDs of Free and Net BSD from 
some of the vendors out there.  For other ramblings and discussions 
you can contact me off list or in #tcbug on freenode (appa_x)  Our 
website is http://www.tcbug.org which also has contact info on it.
