Hm.  There is a known bug where connecting twice to rsh in a short amount
of time will jam the second session. Waiting 30s or so and trying again
works fine.  I don't know if this was fixed in 2.2 or not.

Perhaps.  Check with your DNS and make sure the dialup line has a proper
reverse nameserver entry.
