I did the system upgrade, and then did: pkg_delete -a rm -rf /usr/X11R6 and /usr/local installed XFree86-4, cvsup, emacs, WindowMaker, rxvt, and Mozilla, so I had a minimally-functional desktop. These all work. then started the openoffice port.
