I have only

synchronous_dhclient="YES"
wlans_ath0="wlan0"
ifconfig_wlan0="DHCP"

and /etc/start_if.wlan0:

ifconfig wlan0 ssid xxxxxx bssid xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx \
    wepmode on wepkey 0xXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX weptxkey 1
ifconfig wlan0 up
ifconfig wlan0 ucastrate 54
