There is actually a newer rev of pilot-link available (I think you have to access CVS directly, though) that is supposed to have direct USB support on FreeBSD. http://www.pilot-link.org/ "USB is working with all Palm, Handspring and Sony USB devices, as well as the previous serial support." (version 2.10.x) I have not tested this... I bought a serial cradle for my visor so I could continue using jPilot. Just a data point...
