Yes, exactly -- and also libgcc_pic.a.

The question I was asking is:

'make world' currently uses /usr/lib/libc_pic.a (and /usr/lib/libgcc_pic.a)
instead of '/usr/obj/usr/src/tmp/usr/lib/libc_pic.a' (and ...).  Should it be
doing that?

Real Programs don't use shared text.  Otherwise, how can they use
functions for scratch space after they are finished calling them?
