Actually x86-64 requires Gcc 3.1.  The IA-64 bits are much better in 3.1,
and I have only been able to get FreeBSD/sparc64, FreeBSD/PowerPC, and
FreeBSD/StrongARM bits committed to FSF Gcc 3.1.
