Hi there. I just tried to install PostgreSQL 7.1.3 on my FreeBSD box (v4.4), and I get the following message: Soldier# make ===> Extracting for postgresql-7.1.3 >> Checksum OK for postgresql/postgresql-base-7.1.3.tar.gz. >> Checksum OK for postgresql/postgresql-opt-7.1.3.tar.gz. >> Checksum mismatch for postgresql/postgresql-docs-7.1.3.tar.gz. Make sure the Makefile and distinfo file (/usr/ports/databases/postgresql7/distinfo) are up to date. If you are absolutely sure you want to override this check, type "make NO_CHECKSUM=yes [other args]". *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. I decided to try a make NO_CHECKSUM=yes, and got the following message: Soldier# make NO_CHECKSUM=yes ===> Extracting for postgresql-7.1.3 ===> postgresql-7.1.3 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/ant - found ===> postgresql-7.1.3 depends on executable: gmake - found /usr/bin/tar: Skipping to next file header... gzip: /usr/ports/distfiles/postgresql/postgresql-docs-7.1.3.tar.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error /usr/bin/tar: archive - EOF not on block boundary *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/postgresql7. Soldier# Looks like there is a problem with the tar ball. Is there anything else I can do to get PostgreSQL installed via ports?
