Thanks, wasn't sure if it was a problem with the port or not.  I've
updated the report in gnome's bugzilla with the information.  I'll have
to see if I can find a work around in the meantime, possibly sudo.  The
only reason I have X running unnecessarilly on different machines is so
that I can have nifty remote desktops and feel like a total geek.  :-/
